Musings from the LA Times
Today the LA Times took solace that, like last year, the East is beating each other up, while the Lakers are cruising to the best record in their conference. Of course, that didn't help the purple last year. In fact, I maintain it hurt them. While the Celtics were getting playoff-tested against Atlanta, Cleveland, and Detroit, the Lakers snored their way to the Finals. Equally interesting, the Times has made little mention of Drew Gooden since he signed with the Spurs. Instead, the Laker beat writers have said the Lakers have no competition in the West like the Celtics do in the East with the Cavs and the Magic. We'll start to find out if that's true this Thursday, when the Lakeshow visits San Antonio.

Utah has had injuries and are now getting healthy. The Spurs have had injuries and are getting healthy and have added Gooden. I think the Lakers will have competition. Let them be arrogant. I'd love to see them taken out in the first round because they think they underestimate the opponent. I really hate the Lakers.
That would indeed be wonderful
