Coming off the bench this past season, Powe ranked sixth in the league with 10.45 free throw attempts per 48 minutes. He also ranked fifth in the league by averaging 5.7 offensive rebounds per 48 minutes.
Ever since extrapolating out Bill Walton's numbers per 48 in 1986, I've been a tad bit obsessed with per-48 stats. The above Leon Powe stats are pretty eye-catching, maybe even a little surprising. Shelden Williams won't be as productive as Leon. But supposedly Shelden's rebounds per 48 are pretty eye-catching. I'll have to dig those up and do a compare.
Leon Powe averaged 13.4 rebounds and 1.5 blocks per 48
Shelden Williams averaged 14.3 rebounds and 1.7 blocks per 48
See post above, however, where I call into doubt the rationale underlying the whole need to compare Powe to Williams.
