Butter Bean and the End of the Bench

Ok, so Michael Sweetney has a chance to make the roster. This tells me that the final spots on fourth string are up for grabs. I was figuring there was one decision to make and one decision only: do we keep Lester Hudson or not? But if Butter Bean actually has even a 5% chance of making the team, well, that opens up quite a number of possibilities. 1) Cut Hudson, keep Butter Bean, and fill Hudson's spot with a veteran point guard later; 2) Cut JR Giddens, but keep Hudson and Butter Bean; 3) Trade spare parts to make room for the fourth stringers. 4) Make a big trade of spare parts for a rotation player.

I'm sticking with the safe choice:

Butter Bean gets cut.
