The Perk and Allen Show

In the late 1980s when the Pistons were playing a big game and it was the fourth quarter, Isiah Thomas would call a time-out, go the bench, return to the floor, and suddenly go crazy, dropping moon-ball jumpers, runners to his left, faders to his right, and finger rolls over seven footers. Turns out he was cracking open smelling salts before these jaw-dropping displays.

I think Tony Allen must be carrying some smelling salts in his shorts tonight, because this isn't the C+ TA we're talking about. It's not even the B- TA. Tonight we're seeing TA summon his inner Deion Sanders, one of those rare occasions where he seems two steps ahead of everyone else and arguably the best player on the floor. At least that's what we're seeing in the first half, where he's posted 10 points, 3 steals, and 2 assists in 11 minutes of play. As a fan, you just kept hoping Doc would leave him out there.

What about Kendrick Perkins?

All he did was grab 13 rebounds in the first half. Sometimes I wonder if he doesn't read this blog, as I was just saying it would be nice for him to average double digit boards the rest of the season. Oh yeah, Perk also added 9 points in 15 minutes.
