The Bruins, stuck in 12th place just a week ago, will enter the Olympic break in seventh place in the Eastern Conference. No wonder they were feeling good about themselves. In a six-day span, the Bruins turned a season that appeared ticketed to Lottery Land into a season that might see some playoff hockey yet. “Definitely a great week for us,’’ said Tuukka Rask after last night’s 3-2 shootout win, the Bruins’ fourth straight victory.

Last year the Bruins rolled into the playoffs with one of the best records in the NHL, only to get upset in the second round. As we've learned in the NBA, the playoffs are an entirely different kettle of fish. So all I'm looking for this year is a playoff berth. We'll worry about match-ups later. I'm also more excited this year because last year our #1 goaltender was 35-years-old. This year he's 22-year-old Tuukka Rask.
