Herman Munster Now 50-50 On Italy

September 16, 1980

Dan Peterson, coach of the Milan entry in the Italian basketball league, yesterday said that Celtic No. 1 draft pick Kevin McHale is no more than a "50-50" possibility to sign a contract with his club. McHale and his agent, Minneapolis attorney Ron Simon, have been in Milan since Sunday investigating the situation.

The Celtics' two-a-day workouts continued at Hellenic College, with the highlight being a game-condition scrimmage last evening. Coach Bill Fitch has yet to cut anyone, but the fate of a few people may have been decided by that scrimmage. Dave Cowens lost a toenail on a big toe after a mishap Sunday night and will be sidelined for a few days. The Celtics open the exhibition campaign Sunday night when they play the New Jersey Nets at the New Haven Coliseum.
