Celtics Rely on Balanced Attack to Claim Victory in Road Opener (72-73)
OCTOBER 11, 1972
The Celtics won by 13, but built much of that lead in the fourth quarter. Boston was one Don Chaney basket away from posting seven players in double figures (with #33 adding 11 off the bench), a hallmark of a deep and balanced scoring attack. Coach Tommy Heinsohn gave rookie Paul Westphal his first dose of regular season PT. Meanwhile, notice future Celtics Dave Bing and Curtis Rowe on the opposing roster.
