Andrew Bynum, who didn't play in the 2008 NBA Finals because of a left knee injury, said he is seriously thinking about having his right knee drained so he can be ready for the Celtics.
Bynum has been playing with a torn cartilage in his knee since the first-round series against the Oklahoma City Thunder.
He said the knee continues to have swelling.
"I'm going to think about it all day [Sunday]."

Bye, Bye Bynum?

How was Bynum? I didn’t get the chance to watch the game, but I just read ESPN’s article on the possibility that PJ may sit him due to his “ineffectiveness.”

Andrew looked slow and hurting. 2 points and 3 fouls in 8 minutes. Phil said Andrew is not playing in game 4.

It is a bum deal about Bynum, because without him we go from a deep front line to a thin front line. But the kid just doesn’t look right out there, and from all reports, hasn’t even practiced in weeks.

Yeah, after seeing Bynum tonight, we will be without him (a non factor) for the rest of the Playoffs, IMO. Just like the previous years, unfortunately for the Lakers.

I'm gonna take the party line and say it would be much more fun to administer a beat down on a Laker team with a healthy Andrew Bynum in the fold.

More Laughs at the Lakers Expense
And Lamar Odom's presence on the court is valuable in its own right, the uncertain contributions from Andrew Bynum only place more need on the Lakers to bring back Odom. Mikki Moore's name has popped up as a potential replacement for Odom on the Lakers' roster.

Wow. Ok. I'm back to hoping Lamar bolts. I just can't wait to hear from Laker Nation after they sign Mikki Moore to replace LO. The other thing to note here is that one year ago, all we heard about Andrew Bynum was that he was Kareem, Wilt, and Shaq all rolled into one. Now the common perception seems to be that his contract is an albatross around the neck of Mitch and Jerry.

The Bynum Beatdown
Assessed a technical for an intense glare? Give me a break. They ought to have assessed Bynum a technical for his poor defense and overall lackluster play. Come to think of it, they ought to assess Andrew Bynum a technical every time someone asks if he's gonna be the next Shaq or compares him to any other big man in Lakers history besides Swen Nater. The Lakers reign as champions is only a month old and its already more than I can take.

Andrew Bynum Update

March 5, 2008
Andrew Bynum isn't on a treadmill yet in the recovery from his knee injury. And now the Lakers have quit projecting a return date for Bynum.
Apparently the best- case scenario is late March or early April.
