Rasheed Wallace is a player that Doc and especially KG will love because of his ferocity and bully mentality. His skills are on the decline a bit, but ‘Sheed can still hit threes, rebound and find the open man. Shelden Williams is a big body who along with Kendrick Perkins and Big Baby will make going to the paint a physical nightmare for opposing players. Boston hopes that Williams will be the player Atlanta thought they were getting when they drafted him fifth overall out of Duke in 2006.

Damn, and the author was doing so well until the last sentence. Yes, Shelden Williams will thrive in a system where the sum total of his job description will be "rebound, play defense, and pound opposing players who enter the paint." He does these three things, Give It to Me Big Shelden will earn an A+.
I just can't stress enough, however, that this is entirely different than the reason he was drafted #5 in '06. In the NBA players are drafted #5 to be franchise-players, you know, like Kevin Garnett. The Leon Powes of the world are drafted later on.
So, NOOOO, the 2009-10 Boston Celtics don't have ANY expectations that Give It to Me Big Shelden will rise to the level of expectations set in June 2006.

Shelden Williams is fast become a favorite of mine. He seems very happy to be a Celtic and his tweets are mostly about his wife and baby and home life (unlike another new Celtic whose tweets border on scary)
I like this kid and I am pulling for him.
Yeah, me to. He gets absolutely no respect. None. It would be so great if he can just do his thing. Imagine if Mikki Moore could have rebounded, played defense, and shoved people around in the paint?
I highly expect Shelden "The Landlord" Williams to do all three. And he's a nice guy that you feel good rooting for.
Should be fun to see if he produces
